The Assistant Nursing & Midwifery (ANM) course prepares students to provide basic nursing care and maternal–child health services in hospitals, clinics, and community healthcare settings. The program focuses on preventive, promotive, and curative aspects of healthcare, with special emphasis on maternal health, newborn care, and family welfare services.
Students are trained in fundamental nursing procedures, midwifery care, first aid, infection control, nutrition, and health education. The course also emphasizes community health nursing, ethical practice, and effective communication. Through classroom instruction, practical laboratory work, and supervised clinical training, students develop the skills required to support nurses, doctors, and midwives in delivering quality healthcare services.
Upon completion, graduates are prepared to work as Assistant Nurse Midwives in hospitals, maternity homes, primary health centers, and community health programs, or to pursue further education in nursing and midwifery.
